Overview
"Remediation of Professionalism in Medical Students," is designed to equip healthcare educators, faculty, and administrators with the necessary tools and strategies to address and remediate professionalism issues in medical students. Professionalism is a cornerstone of medical practice, and it is essential that students embody these standards throughout their education and clinical experiences. However, various challenges can arise that hinder the development of professionalism. This session will provide a comprehensive approach to understanding, identifying, and addressing these challenges, ensuring that students meet the high standards required of future healthcare professionals.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe the resources available for remediating professionalism in medical students – Understand and identify institutional, faculty, and community-based resources that support the remediation of professionalism.
  2. List some of the problems causing professionalism issues in medical students – Recognize common and emerging challenges that lead to professionalism concerns, including personal, academic, and environmental factors.
  3. Discuss methods for remediating professionalism with medical students – Review and apply evidence-based strategies and interventions to guide medical students toward professional growth and development.
